Don’t be impressed by others. Impress others yourself.
I’m totally sick of celebophiles. If I see one more facebook status update or tweet about what celebrity you saw or what VIP party you attended, I might just use my old school bic pen and gag myself. I mean seriously! Yes, I realize that it is ‘fun’ to spot a celeb and think “Wow, they look like ___ in person.” or “Their outfit is great”. Here’s the point when you cross the line- 1) Taking a picture with your camera phone. You are now civilian paparazzi. 2) Chasing after a celeb to chat. What’s the intended goal here? You’re an actress, they’re an actress perhaps if you run to catch up with said actress she may be so taken by your eagerness that she’ll immediately call her agent and get you that audition you’ve been pining for. 3) No one cares. I mean this is in the kindest possible way. Unless you have a funny celeb encounter (like for example, when I ran into a certain female celeb loading up on TGI Fridays frozen entrees at my grocery store…true story) But anyway, two guys approached her and asked her a million questions. WHY??? She’s just tryin to get her TGIF on. I mean, let a woman shop. Back to my other point though- no one cares. If you tell me you were doing shots with a bunch of a -list celebs… what difference does it make to my life? I’m still going to be watching Roseanne reruns. When you tweet “OMG- (random celeb name) is wearing sick Louboutins”- my thought is- duh! why wouldn’t she be?
I will never understand wanting to stalk a celeb when you are just as impressive. Become the person you want to stalk. Aim for the moon and if you fall you’ll land amongst the stars (that’s where you wanted to be anyway right?)
I don’t mean to be on a soapbox here, but why showoff, or bother these people. Let them be. They are merely mortal.
